Who is City Girl Desert Doll?

October 9, 2015

Hey bloggers !

I got a chance to interview the Las Vegas art and fashion blogger Autumn Mae aka CityGirlDesertDoll. We got a chance to talk about the growth of her brand and who inspires her to keep going. It was so great connecting with someone that I share some of the same goals with and who truly understands the fashion/entertainment world.

Brigethia Arai:

When did you start blogging? And who inspired you to start one ?

CityGirlDesertDoll:

I started blogging as apart of my class requirement. I actually hated that we had to create one. It felt tedious. Then after the class I realized and seen what other blogs looked like. I wanted to create my own and do my own style with it. I continued it on because I felt I had no voice with anyone I was around. I had kept it a secret and when people found out they became shocked so I decided to embrace it.

Brigethia Arai:

How did you come you up  with the name CityGirlDesertDoll and what does it mean ?

CityGirlDesertDoll:

So there has been numerous names with this blog. The early stages I was autumn falls for fashion then sensei in the closet and nothing fit me. I honestly can't tell you why or how city girl desert doll popped in my head but it did. I was from a small city. Born into a city life and then moving myself to the desert, which is not exactly Las Vegas. I then started embracing more fashion. So I became a doll. Dressing up and make up. I guess it fit me and I never wanted to change it

Brigethia Arai:

How would you describe your style ?

CityGirlDesertDoll:

I honestly have no words. I experiment every day. I guess that's the perk about finding you. Your style isn't actually established.

Brigethia Arai:

What is your go-to piece in your wardrobe ?

CityGirlDesertDoll:

Black black & more black!

Brigethia Arai:

If you had to pick your  3 fashion icon's who would they be and why ?

CityGirlDesertDoll:

Beyoncé because it's Beyoncé?!

Solange because she's the wild card and she's ready to switch it up.

Jhene Aiko because she embraces being earthy and her California elements in her style.

Brigethia Arai:

As far as your career,  where do you see yourself in 5 years? or What is you dream job?

CityGirlDesertDoll:

Dream job is a fashion editor for a great publication who's making headlines. I want to then in my older age own a boutique cafe. However I hate buying and accounting so I may just own it but that's it. I have a lot I want to do. It's scary but amazing how ambitious I tend to be.

Brigethia Arai:

What do you want people to know about yourself and your brand CityGirlDesertDoll?

CityGirlDesertDoll:

That it's not just a style blog. It's there to inspire. To cultivate minds on human rights, women rights, and self love. To create ideas of who you want to be in this world and what it takes to get there.
